I have a Suzuki dt225 what are the major issues I should be looking out for?
Like this video. Good info.
I just got a used boat with a 2017 Suzuki DF140. It has about 74 hours. When I got it it had 65 hours and I have ran it a bit with no issues except a fuel smell.
It runs great and seems to be good except there is a smell of fuel at idle and I see a sheen on the water. It is not real bad but definitely there and something is not quite right. It may be doing it when running but since I am moving I may not notice.
Any idea what may cause this. The motor starts easy every time and runs at about 6000 RPM WOT. no odd noises or shakes.
Just smells like raw fuel and the fuel sheen on the surface of the water. I even see it when I am flushing the motor with the garden hose.
I see no leaks or smells from the fuel water separator. I took the cover off after running and the smell is not under the cowling and seems to be coming out of the exhaust by the prop.
Any idea or hints? I would be very appreciative.
Just bought a new 150hp and 40 hp Suzuki, had nothing but issues with my Yamaha 2017 model including blowing the crank case seal offshore.
Much sweeter engine too.
you love to hear yourself talk
Is the Suzuki 150 motor a good motor to buy ?
Just ordered a 25hp Suzuki tiller for my 16 ft Jon boat. Everywhere Iβve read and watched claimed theyβre reliable and get great fuel economy. Itβll replace a very old Johnson 25 2 stroke so looking forward to hitting the water with it.
I got 2005 df140 love it does it have nema 2000 to hook to garmin unit for gages
You didnt tell us much. Its a secret
Late to the party as usual. With my experience 80% of all outboard motors are Suzuki in PanamΓ‘ π΅π¦. It's mostly saltwater then yahama and Merc and Honda are rare.
Is the Johnson four stroke 140 really just a Suzuki rebranded
What is your opinion of the Suzuki 350 Dual Prop?
I owned every outboard made I think, I loved my 2016 Honda 40 and my 2016 Honda 90, However I sold those boats, I currently own a 2021 50 merc , Its ok now, However I also own a 2021 25 HP Suzuki, I love it !
Thoughts on the 115hp Suzuki? I'm getting ready to repower my 1987 Sylvan 21' sportfisherman. Currently has a 1995 115 Evinrude.
Are just reposting old videos?
I have 2021 DF70a on a 87 StarCraft mariner 180 cc… Fabulous motor. Already put 300hrs on it and no issues. Quiet, good on gas, amd torquey. I was told the df70 and 90 are the same motor its just a ecu upgrade. Can anyone confirm this?
I have a 2019 DF140A on a 22ft Misty Harbor pontoon. I only get 25mph at 5600rpm. Pretty disappointed. Also last year I had a miss at full throttle. I noticed it went I was getting ready to take it to the dealer for winterization He told me my injectors we plugged because I didn't run it enough and most was a low RPM. 70 hours on a 4 year old motor. Not covered by warranty and it happens to a lot of low hour motors. Is that reliability ? Also is that a bad dealer or just how Suzuki works?
I owned a rib in the Mediterranean with two Suzuki 300 ap and I have done almost 500 hours without a single problem. Now I went for a bigger rib, about 12.5 meters and I decided to go again with 3 Suzuki 300 apx. Always used Suzuki and I will again and again
You had the potential for a good video, but as soon as you mentioned "that rigging tube" at 3:45 you lost me. You have 2 outboards within 3 feet of you. How can you discuss technical stuff about these motors without showing the viewers what you're talking about. It's clear you know your stuff about motors. Video production? Well… maybe not so much.
Hot tip – show people an example of your talking point. Show me that "rigging tube".
I love my 03johnson 115 four stroke. Which is actually a DF115
Df90? Good?
I had several Suzukis. DT4 – perfect little trolling motor! Shame it drowned. DT30 – corroded away even in brackish waters, but it was a beast of it's own time. Great oldtimer… DF50 – sweet engine. 3 cylinder… and just check it's compression! Never, never run a low octane on such compression engine. It will knock and it will overheat. Is you are not able to get the boat on plane fast, or you want to pull another boat ashore for prolonger time under load – it will overheat.
As i drive maybe more that 200 outboards on my hand, as i own 9 outboards, mercury is the shit of the market, the one that has turbine sucks (supercharged shiht) i like honda, i prefere yamaha, i love suzuki.
it seems as if two stroke in every company is shit besided that yamaha 2stroke 70-90s and even then
This videos helps me to get my fist suzuki dt30 π awesome machine
Yamaha. Period.
I have a 175 on a 22β bay boat and i have the wrong prop. My RPM goes to 7k. I obviously never run it that hard, the one I have now is a 3x16x21.5 any clue which I need? My goal is top end speed
What are your thoughts on the 350?
Mostly Suzuki on cape cod, Yamaha is second but not even close
Love my old 04 Suzuki DF115! Bullet proof, easy to work on, was designed to be easily serviced, and itβs been so bullet proof!
Anyone have experience with the 115 vs 140 suzuki in slow speed trolling applications. I have 19 ft deep v tin boat.
If the dreaded twin spark plug 1999/2000 225 hp motor just all the sudden dies while running and doesn't restart. Compression check shows 120 in all cylinders…what is known about this engine to look toward replacing. I am thinking the ECU could be the culprit? Since it has the fuel injection system I haven't checked anything on it but no other indicator other than shutting off. Thanks I saw how you referenced the twin spark plug cylinder engine…so thinking you are not big fans of it…what have you found goes wrong with it! Thanks!
Just repowered with a 115 Suzuki, have not water tested yet
Rather work on a force…πππππππ I'm β
I had zuk 75hp ran it for 9 years plugs lower unit oil and water pumps only maintenance ever needed used it mainly Texas but from Mexico to Canada on fishing trips great motors
Suzuki is a good choice
The bad… fuel efficiency.
Motors are so damn quiet you end up leaving them running and after a week of running they're out of gas.
I will be honest i have been on hundreds and hundreds of boats with all different brand outboards and out of them all Suzuki's have always preformed above the rest in reliability. warranties and is up there in performance and efficiency next i would say is Yamaha's only had one not preform well and all it was is going intonlimp mode because of a defective chip then I wound say mercury comes in third have been on a few where webhad parts fail starting issue ls feul issues and parts wearing out anything thats not those three i wound never buy one
I'm looking at a Suzuki 50 tiller for a Lund fury.
I have a 2021 9.9 Suzuki 4 stroke..no issues with it at all, very quiet, great on gas, fresh water only. The ugly..it's heavy 105lbs with electric start I purchased it for my dinghy but it's too heavy to man handle off the swim platform onto the dinghy. I have it on a 15' aluminum fishing boat..
Most knowledgeable guy. U can tell by the way he speaks π
Sure wish I could get a 200 ss here in Ontario Canada. No dealers and available
I need help my Suzuki 250 DF starboard side overheating only 60 hours on it. Everything was changed, including impeller, water, pressure valve, spark plugs, thermostats everything I could think of somebody help.π’
Wellβ¦ Iβm about to do some testing of a new Suzuki 50hp on a 17β duck hunting boat this fall.
Should I install a jack/ kick plate?
Semi-v, step transom 17β 56β across the floor with a 68β beam, tiller drive. What should I expect speed wise? Mid 30βs is what Iβm thinking
For the experts & Suzuki lovers please help!!
I have a 2005 DT150 Suzuki outboard my lower is seized and shot! I refuse to let it go, we love this boat & motor! Problem is the parts are obsoleteβ¦. The gears are a manufacturing defect & well the one thing that seizes up in the lower! So we know what it is but canβt find crap for replacement parts!
We will fix it on our own however need any advice to find parts for it⦠google leads to nothing helpful. TIA
I just got a used df140 put new harness to the front of boat but can't get to start all it will do is back fire when you first try to start. All I have is a key trim and shifter switch hooked up at the dashboard. I'm I missing something that is needed to run the motor
25ft x 8ft Lafitte Skiff very slight V
Anyone have an idea of what Suzuki would be right im thinking 300 because it needs to be fast so i can cruise at a good clip for efficiency on long runs
Had my Suzuki for 10 years never a problem.
