Hope you guys are enjoying Switch 2! Really curious to hear everyones early thoughts in the game, I'll be in the comments a bunch on this one. As always, thanks for watching 🫡

While the intermissions do get annoying after a while, you have to give them a bit of credit for how many intermissions there are from track to track like I think there are over 100 track to tracks routes in there and while you can't go too far in a race for example – Bowser's castle to Dino Dino Jungle- there are still loads of nearby places you can go but I kind of wish in Grand Prix there was an option for 3 laps and not just separate in vs mode for people who enjoy 3 laps in Grand prix but I appreciate that they did something different.
Fun Fact: Nintendo had a second costume for Pauline designed for Mario Kart World, but was scrapped when the game released.
I think you're being too generous with the intermissions, they are soooo boring. It's a highway simulator and it's awful
I am Aussie so its 109 aud on sale 123 otherwise
How do you not know every song?? bla bla bla
I know the bad and ugly is the abhorrent pricing structure they're going with this console. I'll take that as my cue to no longer support Nintendo, after just over three and a half decades. They really managed to make me do it. Oh well all good things must come to an end. The greed is just unreal and will only open the floodgates for other developers, good riddance.
This game is good and enjoyable, but it’s the start of a new formula.
MK8D is the perfection of the old formula, but can’t have all the new stuff.
It's a £40 game with £40 congestion charge for driving in mushroom kingdom.
About Pauline and DK, they probably only have two costumes because they’re going to add more as cross promotion for DK Bonanza. Both of those characters are in that game
Battle mode is really disappointing. Really really disappointing. But thoroughly enjoying everything else so far! Wish there was more incentive to collecting things in free roam though.
Its 99.999% ugly 😢
Outside of being MK fanboy this is not worth getting. Imo Switch 2 lineup right now was pretty weak.
Cyberpunk is good i guess bec it is +100 hour game so u have something to do when u wait for Donkey Kong etc.
Do you guys for sure see nintendo keeping up support this game like adding new characters? Bc honestly so many fan favorites are missing like Diddy
Another very ugly thing is that you can't play in a public knockout tour lobby with a friend online. You can only play against bots
I've commented this on so many videos, my only requirement was that I can play the 3 laps. I think the intermissions are an interesting concept, but considering the format hasn't changed for 10 entries before this, it's obviously expected that people want to also play the original way. I've seen that i can do it with the plus button, but the UI is a bit clunky. I've also seen that a lot of the matches are a repeat of being hit, falling down to way back in the pack and getting a golden, as well as way more straight lines than endless curves like in 8. So even though i love the visuals of this game, my gripe with the poor character options, weird costumes and boring gameplay has lead me to delay my purchase with this for a good 2 years.
Realistically? With there being skins, and the lack thereof, Nintendo will DEFINITELY pull a Tour and do microtransactions. Yes, on top of an $80 game. Other additions outside of skins? I'm not sure, but I wouldn't put it past their greed to charge EVEN MORE for this shit.
I don’t think he actually likes the game
the ability to make your own races in the open world and then publishing them would be a really fun addition
By the time I finished this video, I went from being dismissive of the criticisms on the basis that it still looks fun and that no game is perfect to not being able to deny that the many, many "minor issues" all add up to something that doesn't justify the price tag. I'll take my chances waiting for a discount, updates, a special edition version, or even a "Mario Kart World Deluxe" in the 2030s before I cave and get it.
Thanks for the high-quality content! It's refreshing to see someone acknowledge the game's redeeming value while at the same time presenting criticism in a way that shows that you want it to succeed instead of tearing it (and its fans by extension) down.
Not really a fan of using mental illness such as Bipolar Disorder as a light joke
People suffer pretty badly from it (and it doesn't really work exactly the way stigma & lack of education have people believe)
Great video! But feel you could do better there
