  1. Ok. Im pretty new to all this (mods i mean). Would it be better as far as relaibity goes and resuced recoil) to just have my existing barrel oorted instead of adding on a compensator? I biught the hellcat for rhe short barrel length, and the comp eliminates some of that. Thanks for any help and input. 👍

  2. 5 years later than this video, I got a 19x that came with a threaded barrel. But my initial application was for a YHM R9 can. Sounds like I'm probably better off not messing with Comps if I'm not going to do a lot of racing with this gun. I found the video very informative and glad I ran into it.

  3. Went from Glock Perfection to Glock Selection 😂.
Never imagine putting a comp only works on 13 lbs spring and only wants to shoot plus P ammo or hotter ammo.

  4. As someone who runs a compensator on my carry, I will say when you throw a comp on a glock 19 length pistol (specifically i have a shadow systems mr920 and comp in a t1c appendix iwb holster) it is still very comfortably carryable. Does depend on the person ofc, im a 6ft skinny guy so your mileage may vary. But as long as you test that your comp is reliable and not causing cycling issues, I would absolutely recommend carrying with one. I actually find it even easier to carry with the extra length since it pushed my grip in closer to my torso.

  5. If someone is set on a comp and wants to use "standard" pressure ammo, and experiences a malfunction, they just need to go down on the recoil spring poundage. Comes with a territory, and with Glocks it depends from model to model. Such as 10mm G40 & 20, from what I read online from the users, are generally fine with the OEM springs, using a wide variety of ammo, as most decent range ammo or self-defense "upper shelf" rounds create plenty of pressure, yet some people that hand-load extra pressure ammo, and often use beefier after-market barrels (OEM are meant for factory ammo, according to Glock), actually go up with the recoil spring strength, even with a comp on. So it kind of depends… It comes with the territory. Objectively, there are substantial benefits, but it comes with some caveats, and those that complain usually just didn't do enough research and either need to remove it, switch ammo, or/and try different poundage springs. It gives some edge in the competition shooting world to well-tuned guns, but a lot of people really get them because they look cool and because of video games lol. Nothing will help as much as practice and training, and I am glad that someone out there actually points out these "caveats," so hopefully more folks save their money, or put it towards good optics or, even better, more ammo for range practice 😀

  6. You pretty much covered all the problems you can have with comps. I use them too, now, and it took a lot of effort to achieve the reliability I needed. I run 9mm with 158g bullets at major, that was a separate issue that also required a lot of effort. But I think it helped with the compensator reliability even if it didn’t add as much control as a light bullet would.

  7. Which Out of the box gun with comp already do you think you personally like the best? I recently bought the Walther PDP f series and the recoil is horrible but the comp is supposed to help tremendously but you've fired more than I have so let me know which gun you would pick without breaking the bank.
    Thanks

  8. Kinda broken audio. (Maybe the directional audio slider was hit in the editing phase)
I only noticed because I had 1 earbud in and I could hear steel in 1 ear and no voice until I got my full headset.

  9. Bought a comp before watching this and had malfunctions after every round I wasn’t running ammo hot enough or the right spring vid definitely helped

  10. $60-150 for a comp? I got a slide mounted comp for my 1911 on Amazon for $30 😂 Kinda came looking for the pros/cons of slide mounted vs barrel mounted compensator’s, wondering if my slide mounted 1911 comp is even helping that much, I feel like it is but maybe I’m just imagining it to convince myself the cool factor is worth it

  11. If I wanted to mill my own piece, are there any known structural issues with custom cuts into the metal? Like instead of normal slits, I put, I dunno, stars or diamonds instead or something
