Lion King had good CGI though!
I love a couple, like a few, and dislike others. The kids love them, though, and that's a plus. Singer kids won't watch drawn at all, and that's okay. I wasn't a huge fan of black and white growing up either.
One more thing to add in the "Ugly" category: The live-action remakes disrespects the time and commitment given from the hand-drawn animators.
The overuse of CGI that was intended to make the visuals appear "better" seem to make hand drawn animation look inferior. But really, hand-drawn animation is an important form of art that really defined Disney's significance and influence.
I disagree with the take about Cinderella. It shows her estimable character to forgive. Cinderella is the lone, live-action that I think improves on the original.

I love Cruella. The others I am not crazy about live action Disney movies.
All those movies had great moments and many if them really stand out. I love the originals as well. But my four year old gets to experience the same joy i did getting to see them for the first time.
White characters played by non white actors good
Non white characters played by white actors bad
Definitely a trend that should die, especially if it means the Disney could go back to re-releasing the animated counterparts in theaters.
Personally I think the 3 films Howard Ashman worked on all had solid remake’s with the best one being beauty&the beast and I’m anxious but slightly nervous to check out lilo&stitch

Too many of these live action remakes are so abominable, that I think I’m more likely to put on a porno for my kids before any of those atrocities.
Keep Emma Watson out of your danm mouth!!!!
July 10, 2026 – the premiere date for the "live action" Moana. Almost 10 years since the original came out. (sarcastically) I can't wait to see "How Far They'll Go" in butchering this one. But, after looking it up, here are the next films to be put to the executioner's block.
– Bambi.
– Hercules.
– The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
– The Aristocats.
“Infuriated racists alike” is a sentence I haven’t heard before
They also shot Mulan right next to where terrible things happen at in China. Not a great look.
Is Disney going to make a live action remake of Cars? No, people or CGI. Just cars and voice overs. I think it’s a good idea. 😂
