i feel like you just have to be a bit more careful with how you portray ppl when your fandom is about major complex historical people that, sure did some good, but also a lot of bad. like if i saw a julius ceasar or winston churchill au character like this, idk i’d feel weird about it bc like i’m not gonna say not humanize them at all but turning ppl who owned slaves or literally committed genocide into smol bean quirky silly little caricatures is real uncomfortable for me

Animatics were my introduction to Hamilton tbh. I watched one that was in my recommendations and I grew addicted to the song. I then got recommended more, and the rest was history. I'm no longer part of the fandom but I've found myself getting back into the musical recently. And it feels great.

i was on fandom tumblr in 2015.. hamilton fans were inescapable and always doing something wild.
i wasn't super phased by it as someone who had been in the superwholock fandom, homestuck fandom AND hetalia fandom during late 00's and early 2010's
I'm not a fan of Hamilton, it's just not interesting to me.
The longer a fandom exists the more unhinged it gets. 😂 People use their fandoms to explore their own interests and feelings, especially teenagers. As an outsider it can look ridiculous, as an insider it can feel like serious drama. Sometimes it is, on either count. Often it’s just teenagers being teenagers and that’s ok. 😅
