  1. Well now this was an interesting video and a very nice 9 mm pistol. I own a FN tactical 509 in FDE. I like my 509 very well but when I first got it I thought the trigger was horrible and it affected my accuracy. I replaced the springs with the m carbo spring kit and replace the striker with the m carbo titanium striker. That made a world of difference and dropped my trigger weight to 4 lb and now I shoot it very well.

  2. They have a deal rn going for 600 with a red dot( idk if its a good red dot). In that case is there better option all features included that would be better at $600?

  3. I installed an apex trigger in my Fns..Not too bad for me being a non gunsmith. I followed an Apex video and I found it being straightforward.

  4. You can just see its a narrow grip. It may be a full size gun but thats a compact grip. I'm that guy who uses the largest back strap on my P10F, G17 C, L, ,G40, PDP Full 5". My late CZ 75preB with Lok palm swell grip panels was the best for rounded side palm filling grip. Most other guns suck. So forget this skinny FN. Great arms mfg. heritage though.
Does this 509 fire after a water dunking ??

  5. Just found your channel I think you did a good job I got a few FN and I have not had any issues and I love them I have a fn compact, tactical, and the FNLS edge and other ones

  6. I conceal carry (IWB) the 509 Tactical daily. Even with a t-shirt on. With the extended mag, you cannot CC without printing very bad though. I also have shoulder carried this and it was super comfortable. I have 2k rounds though this and it has Never malfunctioned on me! I would bet my life on this gun all day, everyday.

  7. I used the Apex jig to easily disassemble the FN509 Tactical to replace the original trigger with an Apex trigger. Following the video instructions, this was a relatively easy job; if you don't mind spending an extra $50 for the Apex jig! From reading reviews and my own observation I also replaced the springs, sear, striker and extractor. As it came "out of the box" I found the trigger to be difficult and my accuracy with this pistol was poor. I also read that the striker was poorly made and had broken / failed after firing 200 to 2000 rounds through the pistol. It did look pretty badly designed and weak to me. When replacing the springs to get a reduced trigger pull I also found a review saying to go to the replacement titanium striker with the lighter striker spring. In the end the pistol is excellent and my accuracy with it is the best of any of my 7 pistols, with the exception of my 2 X 1911's. However, I'd certainly not buy this pistol again knowing that so much work and expense is required to transform it from a pistol I didn't shoot well to one that I now feel is excellent.

  8. Just recently purchased the 509 tactical in FDE. I feel as if it’s a completely loaded firearm for the price point. Very reliable and the trigger isn’t bad as people try to make it out to be. Gonna leave mine stocked.
