Made in Japan quality second to none never had any problems with any Yamahas
1998 mariner with switch that cancells the two bottom cylinders at idle and the cylinders kick in around 2400 RPM. Have one of these motors with only 200 hours on it. Engine will not kick in the other two cylinders anymore and can not find parts to fix it! JUNK!!!
Is there an adjustment that needs to be made on SHO motors for high altitude (4000-6000)? Or do you just have to settle with loss of power (rpm) and try to pitch prop down to compensate? Thank you
Change oil often and plugs the low tension rings allow oil to pass when cold they need to run hot! Use the synthetic blend thats the fix! Don't let your oil get to fueled down it looses viscosity!
I would like a xx2 tee shirt
Got issues with my new to us 05 150 HPDI low hours 140some.
Whats the difference between f90 vs the sho 90?
😂. Happy bush!!!!!
There are only two outboard manufacturers for me. Yamaha and Suzuki. I would not pay any money for other manufacturers product. Why would I? Yamaha is a bit prouder of their products, but they are top of their game. Either way, these two manufacturers could provide a reliable form of transportation. Like the saying,if you want to go fast you take a Merc, but if you want to come back too, you better of with a Zuke or Yam
My 2022 Yamaha f70 shakes a little going less than 20 mph, I have a 22’ custom wooden boat with dual f70, starboard side is the 2022 model the other is is an older 2015 model
Sho i take it we should check oil regularly
LIKED RIGHT OFF THE BAT, I ALREADY KNOW IT'S FIRE!
I have had 0 complaints I bought my motor new in 2011 and I fish alot I couldn't tell u how many hrs is on it but it's alot and I've done absolutely nothing to it absolutely nothing
4 stroke best SUZUKI
2 stroke best YAMAHA
Suzuki has timing chain
Ok guys & gals why is it we have all watched Bob Ross.😂 LOL
Any comments on the f150 exhaust corrosion issue? pretty well documented problem that definitely sits in the ugly category.
You overlooked the F225 exhaust issue, that was a bad and ugly. If ignored would corrode the block/oil pan and ruin the power head. They dropped the ball on that one. I have one in my shop now waiting on the new exhaust kit.
I'm looking at a boat with 2007 F350 Yamahas with only 246 hours. I have heard horrible things about the flywheel and harmonic balance issues. Should I walk away from this boat?
My 2018 has never had a problem, has had the NizPro 332hp tune and now she’s a monster, used every weekend.
I have a 2013 Yamaha F150 With just under 3000 hours. Only problem one lower unit and at 2500 hours had to do The needle and sete ❤my YAMAHA
To my understanding the oil making issue is due to the rings not seating well because of easy running during break in. Have heard if you run them WOT for a considerable amount of time even after break in the rings will seat correctly and quit letting the fuel bypass the rings and “make oil”.
I have owned three Yamaha outboards. My first Yamaha was a 40hp Mariner, made by Yamaha. Then, a Yamaha C60. Currently, I own a 2020 year model 4.2l SHO. Always had good reliability.
Making oil? Hhmmm if we get enough of the together we could solve the gas crissis!
